Mastercard Fintech Express startups to have easy access to Railsbank BaaS platform

Railsbank, the leading global open banking platform and a Mastercard Express Partner, announces that startups that become part of the new Mastercard Fintech Express programme will have easy access to the Railsbank Banking-as-a-Service (Baas) platform.

Launched this week in Europe, the new Mastercard Fintech Express programme provides tailor-made solutions that boost market entry and expansion for startups. The programme supports digital payment innovators by making it simple to collaborate with Mastercard and its extensive network to launch new fintech products. It enables participants to create new tech alliances designed to propel fintechs from concept to market in a matter of days

Railsbank, which has customers throughout Europe and SE Asia, joined forces with Mastercard under the new Express Partner Program after becoming a Principal Mastercard licensed issuer in less than two weeks. Through their optimised setup, Railsbank enables fintechs to launch innovative solutions in a matter of days with Mastercard.

Nigel Verdon, co-founder and CEO of Railsbank, said:

“I am very excited that Railsbank is playing a key role in the new Mastercard Fintech Express programme and that we are now in a position to help many Mastercard startups scale their businesses in Europe. “Since we joined Mastercard’s award winning Start Path programme in 2017, we have developed a successful collaboration with the team and look forward to working very closely with them in the future.”

Mastercard Fintech Express falls under the umbrella of Mastercard Accelerate – Mastercard’s overarching fintech platform that gives start-ups and emerging brands support and assistance for every stage of their growth and transformation, from market entry to global expansion. Mastercard Accelerate consists of four main programs: Fintech Express, Start Path, Engage and Developers.

Railsbank is headquartered in London and has offices in Singapore, Lithuania, the Philippines, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.
