G2 Esports and Bondly Partner to Launch Team’s First NFT Series

G2 Esports and Bondly Partner to Launch Team’s First NFT Series | Fintech Finance

G2 Esports, one of the world’s leading entertainment and Esports brands, and Bondly, the premiere NFT solutions provider empowering the next generation of NFT creators, has established a major multi-year exclusive partnership to develop and launch G2’s NFT Strategy and Platform.

G2 is the first Esports team to secure an NFT partnership with Bondly. The inaugural G2 NFT will launch on June 30th and will be available exclusively via the Bondly platform. Fans can sign up for NFT updates on the G2 website here nft.g2esports.com.

NFTs have grown in popularity recently, allowing virtual collectibles to exist by immortalising moments, videos, pictures, songs, art and more. The series of G2 NFTs, which will be released throughout the year, will immortalise the strongest moments from G2 as digital, ownable assets. Fans will be able to own parts of G2’s history as well as it’s future, from its artwork, music, and monumental wins. The initiative enables G2 to give back to their 35 million strong global community, and for those supporters to invest in and own pieces of the G2 legacy. Bondly will gamify these NFTs to create additional value for G2 fans holding them, as well as an opportunity to receive rewards if they collect several. Designs will evolve over time, providing a unique value for early collectors.

Bondly opened the floodgates earlier this year for mass NFT adoption. It was the first to go to market with unique products in partnership with influencers and musicians and collaborations with gaming/collectibles creators. Bondly created and distributed YouTuber/Influencer
Logan Paul’s first-ever limited-edition series of NFT collectibles for fans, generating $1.3M in NFT sales in the first 30-minutes. Partnering with Bondly, Lewis Capaldi, two-time BRIT Award Winner with 15 Billion streams and chart-topping hits worldwide, quickly sold out his Big Fat Sexy Card Collection (NFT), with the vast majority purchased by a non-crypto audience. Rapper/Singer/ Producer/Songwriter Tory Lanez unveiled three unreleased tracks as NFTs through a collaboration with Bondly, which generated more than $400,000 in initial gross sales and resales. Through Bondly’s core product, BONDSwap, singer, songwriter PelleK released and quickly sold out the first-ever NFT music album, earning $160,000.

Carlos ‘Ocelote’ Rodriguez, Founder and CEO of G2 Esports comments: ‘Today is a huge day for G2. NFTs are something we’ve been working on for a long time. Bondly is the market leader in this field with strong technology and creative experience. I could not be more excited to partner with them. Not only will this partnership allow us to immortalise some of our legendary moments, but give back to our incredible fans, players and supporters and enable them to own pieces of G2 legacy. This is why we’re offering our first NFT for free.

‘I’m also fully aware of the massive amounts of energy required for the mining and selling of NFTs, so we’ve been careful to make sure our NFTs will have as little environmental impact as possible.’

‘Many NFTs from different companies have been released for the sole purpose of profiting from communities. It is our goal that any and all NFTs we release grow in value over time through connecting them with long-term benefits that hold intrinsic value.’

‘Our commitment to the NFT world comes from our deep belief in its technology and usability for the purpose of community engagement.’

“The G2/Bondly partnership demonstrates the commitment of both companies to deliver next-generation fan engagement to Esports fans and players around the globe,” said Jack Flaherty, CEO of Sports, Bondly. “We place an emphasis on quality first, so that every G2 NFT we produce maintains or grows in value while enriching every owner’s experience with the team and brand.”

To keep the environmental impact of G2’s NFTs at a minimum, Bondly will create NFTs using Polygon (MATIC) Proof-of-Stake (PoS) mechanism, which offers a more energy-efficient alternative to Ethereum’s Proof-of-Work system. Proof of Stake has the potential to greatly reduce the energy needed to add blocks to a cryptocurrency’s blockchain. It’s estimated that not using Proof of Work would reduce the calculated carbon footprint to zero and the overall footprint by approximately 99%.

Bondly becomes the newest partner to support Esports and joins G2’s ever-expanding roster of partners. Bondly provides a suite of services that bring authenticated digital-first goods to the market in sports, music, gaming/Esports, and collectibles. Making the crypto and NFT world more trustworthy and transparent, Bondly is partnering with IP around the world to fulfill what’s possible in the burgeoning NFT space. This partnership and creation of the NFTs will introduce Bondly to a global, engaged millennial audience. 80% of G2’s global fanbase sit in the prized 18-34 demographic and G2 boasted 5.8bn impressions across all of its social media channels in 2020.
