G2 Esports and Bondly Partner to Launch Team’s First NFT Series
G2 Esports, one of the world’s leading entertainment and Esports brands, and Bondly, the premiere NFT solutions provider empowering the next generation of NFT creators, has established a major multi-year exclusive partnership to develop and launch G2’s NFT Strategy and Platform.
G2 is the first Esports team to secure an NFT partnership with Bondly. The inaugural G2 NFT will launch on June 30th and will be available exclusively via the Bondly platform. Fans can sign up for NFT updates on the G2 website here nft.g2esports.com.
NFTs have grown in popularity recently, allowing virtual collectibles to exist by immortalising moments, videos, pictures, songs, art and more. The series of G2 NFTs, which will be released throughout the year, will immortalise the strongest moments from G2 as digital, ownable assets. Fans will be able to own parts of G2’s history as well as it’s future, from its artwork, music, and monumental wins. The initiative enables G2 to give back to their 35 million strong global community, and for those supporters to invest in and own pieces of the G2 legacy. Bondly will gamify these NFTs to create additional value for G2 fans holding them, as well as an opportunity to receive rewards if they collect several. Designs will evolve over time, providing a unique value for early collectors.

To keep the environmental impact of G2’s NFTs at a minimum, Bondly will create NFTs using Polygon (MATIC) Proof-of-Stake (PoS) mechanism, which offers a more energy-efficient alternative to Ethereum’s Proof-of-Work system. Proof of Stake has the potential to greatly reduce the energy needed to add blocks to a cryptocurrency’s blockchain. It’s estimated that not using Proof of Work would reduce the calculated carbon footprint to zero and the overall footprint by approximately 99%.
